Sunglasses are an essential accessory for protecting our eyes from the sun's harmful rays. Not only do they protect our eyes from UV radiation, but they also enhance our vision and can even improve our overall style.
At Cassidy Eyecare, two of the most popular brands of sunglasses we stock are Ray-Ban and Oakley.
Ray-Ban, founded in 1936, is known for its iconic Wayfarer and Aviator styles. These sunglasses have been worn by countless celebrities, from James Dean to Brad Pitt, and have become synonymous with timeless fashion. They are like the "little black dress" of sunglasses, they never go out of style.
Oakley, founded in 1975, is known for its high-performance sunglasses designed for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. Oakley's sunglasses are made from durable materials and feature cutting-edge technologies to enhance vision and protect the eyes from the sun's rays. They're like the "workout clothes" of sunglasses, they're built to perform.
When choosing a pair of sunglasses, it's important to consider the level of UV protection they provide. Both Ray-Ban and Oakley sunglasses include 100% UV protection, ensuring that your eyes are protected from the sun's harmful rays. Another important factor to consider is the lens colour. Gray and green lenses are great for bright conditions and provide true-to-life colour representation. Brown lenses are ideal for low light conditions, as they can enhance contrast and depth perception.
At Cassidy Eyecare, we like to recommend polarized lenses. Polarized lenses are designed to reduce glare from surfaces such as water and roads. Polarized lenses can help reduce eye strain and make it easier to see in bright light conditions.
We're also big fans of prescription sunglasses. If you require prescription glasses, you can also get prescription lenses made with a sunglass tint. These are fantastic, and we can't recommend them strongly enough.
